How To Use

Slumber is designed to be simple, versatile, and easy to use—no matter what your bedtime routine looks like. Here are a few of the easiest and most effective ways to enjoy its relaxing benefits:

Diffuse It Overnight: Add 5–8 drops of Slumber to your diffuser and let it run while you sleep. This set-it-and-forget-it method provides gentle, calming aromatherapy all night long.

Inhale It From Your Hands: Rub 2–3 drops between your palms, cup your hands over your nose, and breathe in deeply. You can also simply open the bottle and take a few slow breaths. It’s quick, simple, and surprisingly powerful.

Make a Roll-On: Add 5–10 drops of Slumber to a 10ml glass roller bottle, then top it off with fractionated coconut oil. Shake gently to mix. Before bed, roll it onto the bottoms of your feet, your wrists, or the back of your neck.

Tuck a Cotton Ball Into Your Pillowcase: Place a few drops on a cotton ball or tissue and tuck it inside your pillowcase. This is a mess-free way to breathe in the benefits all night long—especially helpful if you don’t use a diffuser.

Create a Simple Sleep Rub: Mix a drop or two of Slumber with a bit of carrier oil (like coconut oil) and rub it into your chest, neck, or feet before bed.

Ingredients

Lavender, Cedarwood, Lime, Bergamot, Marjoram, & Vetiver Essential Oils

What Does Slumber Smell Like?

Slumber smells exactly how you want your bedroom to feel at bedtime—calming, cozy, and quietly comforting. It’s not overly floral or perfumey. Instead, it strikes a soft balance between earthy, herbal, and citrusy notes that work together to help your body and mind wind down naturally.

Here’s what each ingredient brings to the blend:

Lavender: Soft, floral, and a little herbal—like walking past a blooming lavender plant in your garden. It’s gentle and soothing, not sharp or perfume-like.
Cedarwood: Dry, woodsy, and slightly smoky—like opening an old cedar chest or sitting near a cozy wood-burning fireplace.
Lime: Tart, bright, and a little sweet—like the zest of a fresh lime. It’s a little greener and less sharp than lemon, and helps keep the scent light and fresh.
Bergamot: Bright and citrusy with a soft, floral edge. If you’ve ever sipped a cup of Earl Grey tea, you’ve smelled bergamot—it’s uplifting without being overpowering.
Marjoram: Soft, herbal, and slightly sweet—like fresh garden herbs with a gentle floral undertone.
Vetiver: Deep, earthy, and smoky—like damp soil or wet wood after a summer rain. It’s very grounding, even in small amounts.

What You’ll Notice First

When you open the bottle, the first thing you’ll probably catch is the lavender—it’s soft, clean, and familiar. Then comes the brightness of lime and bergamot, which keeps the scent from feeling too heavy. Finally, you’ll notice the cedarwood, marjoram, and vetiver settling in, giving the blend a warm, grounding base.

Where You’ve Smelled Something Like It

If you’ve ever used a lavender linen spray, tucked a sachet of herbs into your pillowcase, or visited a day spa, this scent will feel a little familiar—but deeper, softer, and more natural than most. Some customers even say it reminds them of something comforting from childhood, though they can’t quite put their finger on what.

How It Feels in a Room

It makes your bedroom feel like a sanctuary—calm, clean, and quiet. Slumber doesn’t just cover up odors—it sets a mood. It’s the kind of scent that helps your shoulders drop and your mind slow down at the end of the day.

How Strong Is the Scent?

It’s noticeable, but not overpowering. Most people describe it as soft, mellow, and relaxing. That said, a little goes a long way. If you’re sensitive to scent, start with just a drop or two and build from there.

You’ll Love This Scent If…

You prefer natural, spa-like scents over sweet or perfume-heavy ones.
You like lavender but want something a little more complex.
You’re looking for a cozy, calming aroma that helps signal “it’s time to rest.”

You Might Not Love This Scent If…

You’re not a fan of earthy or herbal scents (like vetiver or marjoram).
You were expecting a purely floral or sweet scent (like chamomile, ylang ylang, or vanilla).
You’re especially sensitive to strong essential oils, though many scent-sensitive customers say they enjoy Slumber in small amounts.

How Slumber Compares to Other Sleep Blends

Slumber shares many trusted ingredients—like lavender, cedarwood, vetiver, bergamot, and marjoram—with top sleep blends from brands like DoTERRA and Eden’s Garden. These oils are widely recognized for their relaxing and sleep-supporting properties.

But Slumber skips some of the heavier, sweeter florals you’ll find in other blends—like chamomile, ylang ylang, jasmine, or vanilla. That makes it less perfumey and more grounded. The touch of lime gives it a hint of freshness that keeps it from feeling heavy or cloying.

The result? A scent that’s comforting, natural, and practical—without smelling like every other sleep blend you’ve tried.

While Pregnant or Breastfeeding

Not safe for use while pregnant or breastfeeding.

The only blend in our shop that is safe for topical or aromatic use during pregnancy, when properly diluted, is Freshly Washed. Our single oils — lavender, lemon, and sweet orange — are also considered safe when properly diluted. All other blends contain oils that should be avoided while pregnant and breastfeeding.

Even for oils that are generally considered safe, always consult your doctor before using essential oils during pregnancy, do not use them during your first trimester, and never ingest essential oils.

If you choose to apply oils to your skin, dilute them properly with a carrier oil such as coconut, almond, or olive oil. A 1% dilution is recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding (about 2 drops of essential oil in a 10 ml roll-on bottle, filled the rest of the way with carrier oil).
